Best Sunrise Beaches in Maryland

For sunrise over the Atlantic, any beach in Ocean City or Assateague works and there's nothing quite like it. For Chesapeake sunrise, the Eastern Shore faces east across the Bay and the light is different — softer, through more atmosphere. Sandy Point and Fort Smallwood both get good sunrise over water. The light show starts 30-40 minutes before the posted sunrise time, so plan to arrive in the dark.
