Patuxent River Beaches
The Patuxent is Maryland's longest river entirely within the state, emptying into the Chesapeake near Solomons Island. River beaches along the lower Patuxent have a unique character — calmer than the open Bay, with tidal-river ecosystems, good fishing, and often less crowding.
