A sand spit between Netarts Bay and the open Pacific, with the 800-ft Cape Lookout headland jutting two miles into the ocean to the south. The 5-mile out-and-back Cape Trail through old-growth Sitka spruce ends at one of the best whale-watching points on the West Coast.
